Researchers and academics from Wielkopolska in Brussels

2017-11-08

bruksela-atominiumOn 6-7 November researchers and academics representing the Wielkopolska region took part in a study visit to Brussels. The visit was an excellent opportunity to discuss EU’s research and innovation policy, as well as project funding options in the new framework programme for the period starting in 2020. Prof. Jacek Guliński, Director of PSTP, was one of the visitors attending the event.

Not only did the visitors meet with European researchers and academics, but they also had a chance to attend the conference “Shaping the social impact of European research: Policies, strategies, funding” organised in Brussels by the Wielkopolska region in cooperation with European university networks, such as UNICA, SGroup, and Compostela Group.

The conference, which was also attended by the European Commission representatives, stimulated the discussions about the support of research and innovation within the future European framework programme (FP9), and about the role of universities and research institutions in the life of local communities. Conference participants agreed that it was important to increase the social impact of research and innovation.

Rectors of all the universities in Poznań took part in the study visit. The event was also attended by Prof. Jacek Guliński, which shows that PSTP plays an important role as a research centre in Poznań. During the visit, Prof. Guliński had an opportunity to present PSTP’s practical approach to innovation.

The study visit was organised by the Information Office of the Wielkopolska Region in Brussels. For more information about the event, please visit the organiser’s website.
