PSTP in the finals of the Popularyzator Nauki competition
2016-11-17Our Park is taking part in the Popularyzator Nauki 2016 (Science Populariser 2016) competition organised by the Polish Press Agency’s Science in Poland service and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. It is our great success to be among several finalists selected from the total number of 115 candidates. The final results will be published in mid-December.
Popularyzator Nauki is a competition for both individuals and institutions helping other people understand the world and familiarising both children and adults with science.
The Competition Board has selected our application and praised PSTP for its various activities as a science communicator. They include among others:
- Imagine Lab:
the first centre for science dissemination in the Wielkopolska region. Since the opening of the Lab in 2015 we have carried out experiments in various fields of study. The Lab organises planetarium shows and guided tours through the interactive exhibition. The main aim of such modern tours is to encourage visitors to explore the lab and ask questions. - Imagine Picnic:
the biggest open-air scientific event organised in Poznan. During the Picnic all families have an opportunity to take part in experiments, shows, sports competitions and many other attractions prepared by the PSTP tenants. - Organising study visits which familiarise high school and university students with the operation of chemical and biotechnology labs and the activities of innovative companies.
- “University lectures in the Zamek Culture Centre” (“Wykłady uniwersyteckie na Zamku”) – the project which aims to promote research conducted at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan among the city residents.
- Participation in events promoting and popularising the sciences organised in Poznan by other institutions: e.g. Poznan Science and Art Festival (Festiwal Nauki i Sztuki), EU Funds Open Days (Dni Otwarte Funduszy Unijnych), Global Entrepreneurship Week (Światowy Tydzień Przedsiębiorczości), the Researchers’ Night (Noc Naukowców), International Science Centre Day (Międzynarodowy Dzień Centrów Nauki w Polsce) and Science on Stage.
