A new project at PSTP
2017-04-28Six Polish organisations will carry out an informational and educational campaign which aims to encourage young researchers to plan their professional career. To this end, the consortium, under the guidance of the National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the EU, obtained EUR 85,000 from the ‘Horizon 2020’ Framework Programme.
One of the aims of the campaign is to organise academic career days under the title “Project RESEARCHER” in autumn 2017 in 5 Polish cities: Łódź, Gliwice, Kraków, Poznań and Warsaw. The event will be an opportunity for young researchers to learn how to develop their career and interests, establish contacts with other researchers and institutions, apply for research funding, and write a professional CV. They will also find out why it is a good idea to cooperate with the private sector outside the academia and how they should do it. Moreover, an HR Excellence in Research seminar for institutions will take place in Warsaw in December 2017. The campaign will be promoted in the media, including social media.
The project of the Polish team scored best in the competition organised within the framework of Horizon 2020 for the members of the European initiative EURAXESS – the network which aims to support researchers in their professional development.
Apart from the National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the EU, the project team consists of the University of Lodz, Cracow University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology, Poznan Science and Technology Park, and Science PR – a company specialising in the promotion of scientific research.
