Establishment of PPNT

The Poznań Science and Technology Park begins its operations as the first institution of its kind in Poland. The Adam Mickiewicz Foundation in Poznań was the initiator of this project.

1996

Launch of the first project under the EU's 4th Framework Programme „FEMIRC”

PPNT joins the European innovation network, implementing the „FEMIRC” project supporting international technology transfer.

1997

Accession to the IASP network

PPNT becomes a member of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation, gaining access to global exchange of knowledge and experience.

1998

Establishment of the Chemical Technology Incubator and organisation of the first international conference on technology parks in Poland

An incubator supporting start-ups and companies from the chemical sector is established at PPNT, providing them with access to laboratories and specialist infrastructure. In the same year, a conference is organised, bringing together experts from around the world and initiating a debate on the role of technology parks in the development of a knowledge-based economy.

1999

Launch of the Regional Contact Point for EU Framework Programmes

The Regional Contact Point for EU Programmes is launched, acting as an intermediary for participation in international programmes and projects.

2000

Implementation of the Innovation Relay Centre West Poland project (IRC)

PPNT joins the implementation of a project creating a European technology transfer network – Innovation Relay Centre West Poland. The Park's role within the IRC was to provide training, conduct an information campaign and offer consulting services in the field of European technology transfer.

2001

Establishment of the Poznań C14 Radiocarbon Laboratory

The first research centre in Central and Eastern Europe is established at PPNT, dating natural archaeological and geological samples using accelerator mass spectrometry.

2002

Obtaining the status of a scientific unit

The Scientific Research Committee (now the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) grants the PPNT the status of a scientific unit.

2003

First edition of the „Pomysł na Biznes” competition

The PPNT launches a competition to support start-up entrepreneurs, offering them mentoring, consulting and assistance in the development of innovative projects.

2004

First Regional Innovation Strategy for Greater Poland

The first Regional Innovation Strategy for Greater Poland is created, which helped to significantly distinguish the region from the rest of the country.

2005

PPNT entrusted with the role of the institution implementing Measure 2.6 ZPORR of the Integrated Regional Operational Programme

PPNT is responsible for implementing Regional Innovation Strategies and supporting knowledge transfer between science and business.

2006

Opening of the Technology Incubator (InQbator)

A dedicated zone for start-ups is created at PPNT, offering offices, consulting and support in the development of innovative products and services.

2007

The American company Grace opens an R&D centre at PPNT

The global leader in the chemical industry chooses PPNT as the location for its research and development centre.

2008

Expansion of the Advanced Chemical Technology Centre building

The modernisation of the infrastructure enables research to be conducted at an even higher level and supports the development of scientific services.

2009

First entrepreneurship classes for students and doctoral students

PPNT launches an educational programme that trains young innovators and supports them in setting up their own businesses.

2010

Inno(moty)wacje international conference

PPNT organises an international event dedicated to the role of technology parks in the development of a knowledge-based economy.

2011

Establishment of the Skrzaty Park Kindergarten

The opening of a kindergarten on the premises of PPNT creates a friendly environment for employees and companies, supporting the reconciliation of professional and private roles.

2012

Acquisition of new land for investment and first capital investments in start-ups

PPNT expands its resources, preparing space for new technology companies and investors, and begins actively supporting young technology companies by offering financing, training and access to infrastructure.

2013

Opening of the High Technology Incubator Complex

A modern laboratory and office complex is built on the premises of PPNT.

2014

Establishment of Waste-Klaster and DataCenter PPNT

Waste-Klaster is established, with the aim of creating laboratory facilities and a network of business connections for the waste management industry. In the same year, DataCenter is also established, providing laboratory facilities and a network of business connections for the waste management industry.

2015

Establishment of the PPNT Imagination Laboratory

The first science popularisation centre for children and young people in the region is established.

2016

Accreditation from the Ministry of Development and SOOIPP

PPNT obtains accreditation from the Ministry of Development and SOOIPP, awarded to professional business environment institutions.

2017

EU|BIC certification obtained

PPNT joins an elite network of European centres supporting start-ups and innovation.

2018

Creation of the CSV (Creating Shared Value) policy

PPNT introduces a strategy of combining business development with the creation of social value.

2019

TEAM-TECH project for research on ecological plant resistance inducers

PPNT scientists develop innovative solutions for agriculture, supporting environmental protection and plant health.

2020

Plant resistance inducers named Polish Product of the Future and ScaleUp Champions project

Research solutions in the field of plant resistance inducers are awarded the title of Polish Product of the Future, and PPNT becomes the coordinator of a project supporting technology start-ups in their international expansion.

2021

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Global

PPNT expands its exchange programme for entrepreneurs, enabling them to gain experience in companies around the world.

2022

Projects for sustainable development

PPNT is involved in pro-environmental and educational activities, including „Life After Coal”, „Dla błękitnego nieba” czy „Co(2) zmieniacie w klimacie?”.

2023

Establishment of the Technology Parks Consortium and launch of the Imagination Science Centre

PPNT, together with other leading technology parks in Poland, is cooperating to jointly develop innovation and support enterprises. A new space promoting science and innovation is also being created at the Poznań International Fair.

2024

Establishment of the Business Environment Institutions Network (IOB) in Greater Poland

PPNT initiates regional cooperation between institutions supporting entrepreneurship, creating a platform for the exchange of experiences and services.

2025

30 years of innovation – PPNT anniversary

PPNT celebrates three decades of activity, summarising its achievements to date and presenting its vision for development in the coming years.
