PPNT with Tolkien in Greater Poland

21.07.2026

“The Tolkien Train—Greater Poland’s Trail of Culture, History, and Imagination” is an initiative that combines literature, history, and the region’s heritage. The project partners have begun working together on its objectives and planned activities.

Today, a kick-off meeting of the project partners took place at the headquarters of the Poznań Science and Technology Park. The discussions were attended by Józef Dobosz, Prof., from the Faculty of History at Adam Mickiewicz University – the initiative’s founder – as well as the Board of the UAM Foundation and the FNCE Publishing Group. The discussions focused on the project’s objectives, the schedule of activities, and directions for further cooperation.

The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Poznań Science and Technology Park, the Department of History at Adam Mickiewicz University, the Museum of the Origins of the Polish State in Gniezno, the Kórnik Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Poznań Society of Friends of Tolkien “Drużyna Pyrlandii” and the FNCE Publishing Group. Its goal is to promote the heritage of Greater Poland and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien through joint scientific, educational, and cultural activities.

Today’s meeting marked the start of preparations for the project, and we will provide updates on its next phases very soon.
