25th Anniversary of the Poznań Radiocarbon Laboratory 14C at PPNT

25.09.2026

During the annual meeting of the Management Board with employees of the Poznań Science and Technology Park (PPNT), the most significant achievements and events of the past year were reviewed. The meeting concluded with a special surprise as participants came together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Poznań Radiocarbon Laboratory 14C, located within the Park.

Hieronim Maciejewski, Prof., PhD, DSc, Eng., President of the Board of the AMU Foundation and Director of PPNT, extended his congratulations to Tomasz Goslar, Prof., PhD, DSc, Eng., Head of the Poznań Radiocarbon Laboratory 14C, and his entire team. He expressed his appreciation for their consistent efforts in developing the Laboratory and building a team whose knowledge and experience support researchers in Poland and abroad. The celebration concluded with a special anniversary cake.

Established in 2001, the Laboratory combines scientific advancement with the provision of specialised research services. As the first laboratory in Central and Eastern Europe to offer radiocarbon dating using accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS), it opened up new opportunities for research into human and environmental history. Its expertise is used by universities, museums and research institutions from numerous countries.

The anniversary provided an opportunity to express gratitude for years of dedicated work, the Laboratory’s continued development and the team’s contribution to strengthening its scientific reputation and achievements. Congratulations on 25 years of activity, and we wish the entire team many more years of successful research and significant projects.
