Who is Dr Joanna Sawicka-Metkowska?

Names can be deceiving. Although few people recognise Joanna Sawicka-Metkowska, parents and children in Poznań and the surrounding area know her as Doctor Poziomka. This is the pink pseudonym under which the expert has been sharing her knowledge about health on social media and treating children in Poznań and the surrounding area for over nine years. She has been working in a hospital for over 12 years – first at the so-called Krysiewicz Hospital, now the Wielkopolska Paediatric Centre. Since 2023, she has been the Head of the Older Children’s Ward I. She is a graduate of the Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the University of Economics in Krakow. She is a mother of two children. She loves books, sunshine, skiing and spending time with her loved ones.
