On October 13-14, 2025, the annual Afrilabs Annual Gathering conference was held—an event dedicated to the development of cooperation between European and African innovation hubs. The Poznań Science and Technology Park was invited as one of five institutions from Europe as part of a visit organized by the Africa-Europe Innovation Partnership (AEIP) program. The institution was represented at the event by Michał Wujewski.
During the event, delegates participated in the Investment Track, dedicated to financing opportunities for innovation, supporting startups, and building relationships between hubs, investors, and business environment institutions. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices in the development of innovation ecosystems and to establish new contacts with representatives of hubs from Africa and Europe.
As part of the Twinning Programme, PPNT has been linked with partner institutions in Africa: Royal Science and Technology Park (Eswatini) and Golden Youths Foundation. Meetings during the conference provided an opportunity to discuss potential areas of cooperation in supporting entrepreneurship, startup development, and the implementation of technological innovations. Further online meetings are planned in the near future, which will allow for the deepening of relations with partners and the development of joint project initiatives.
On the last day, participants took part in an Ecosystem Tour, which included a visit to Konza Technopolis Smart City (konza.go.ke). The visit provided an opportunity to learn about the history and operating model of the technology park and to familiarize themselves with its advanced infrastructure and the solutions implemented there.
Participation in the visit enabled PPNT to expand its network of contacts with partners from rapidly developing African ecosystems, learn about new models for supporting startups and innovation, and identify potential for joint international projects, including those under European Union programs. The event also confirmed the importance of PPNT’s involvement in international initiatives that contribute to promoting Polish experience in the field of innovation and strengthening the Park’s position as an active partner in cooperation between Europe and Africa.
