The two-day meeting started strong with a lecture about the European Green Deal in cosmetics<\/strong><\/b>. Attention focused on innovative technologies for cosmetics production. Discussions included upcycling, recycling, downcycling, zero waste, water upcycling and energy safe<\/strong><\/b>. Speakers presented practical examples of implementing these methods to reduce the carbon footprint of manufactured products.\"\"<\/p>\n

The COSMEOTECH conference is an idea that originated at the HPCI show where I was exhibiting with our distributor Enzym Cosmetics. I was presenting Symbiosis raw materials on their stand. As we were talking about our range of cosmetic ingredients, I thought it would be a good idea to demonstrate our technologies live at PPNT. Especially in view of the fact that if you want to declare your production in accordance with the Green Deal, it pays to have quality. However, in order to compete in the cosmetic ingredients market, it is not only the results and labels of individual substances that count, but above all an understanding of the history of the component’s origin, the type of technology used to transform, for example, food waste into an effective cosmetic raw material. – says Symbiosis CEO, Ewa Kilian-Pi\u0119ta.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The conference also discussed personalisation of cosmetics, which aims to create products that respond to individual consumer needs. The concepts of multi-tasking, well ageing and a holistic approach to skin care were touched upon.<\/p>\n

Symbiosis Laboratory<\/a> showcased its latest developments in bioferments, including advanced microencapsulation and plant fermentation technologies. Products such as Biolysate R, Biolysate E and Bioferment HA represent a breakthrough in biosynthesis.<\/p>\n

The COSMEOTECH conference also included workshops on cosmetic testing methods, formulation of cosmetic emulsions and raw material quality testing. Attendees had the opportunity to see Sharon Personal Care<\/a> representative Paolo Siragusa produce a hair conditioner, among other products. In addition, Magdalena Palacz – a senior specialist in chemical analysis from the Pozna\u0144 Science and Technology Park – presented equipment for testing the concentration of active ingredients in cosmetics and the use of an electron microscope in hair structure research.<\/p>\n

\"\"The closed-loop production of cosmetics and raw materials is a technology that I have been developing for a long time. I know that it cannot be advertised in a brochure with a symbol that suggests environmental friendliness. COSMEOTECH is a space where we have been able to combine chemical, biotechnological and research technologies with the production of cosmetics, so that in the future, together we can create a closed-loop production of cosmetics from local resources. This is the beginning of this journey and I hope that Polish manufacturers will soon have a high-quality offer of Polish cosmetic raw materials – adds Ewa Kilian-Pi\u0119ta.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This was the first event of its kind. It covered key topics for the cosmetics, toiletries and pharmaceutical industries in both theory and practice.<\/p>\n
