EU SPARKS FOR CLIMATE HACKATHON – TAKE PART!

CLIMATE CHANGE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST CHALLENGES FACING THE WORLD TODAY, AFFECTING EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIVES. THE EU SPARKS FOR CLIMATE HACKATHON IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO GET INVOLVED IN CLIMATE ACTION.

The EU Sparks for Climate hackathon is a virtual competition to promote citizen engagement in science. PPNT is a co-organiser of the event.

Poznan Science and Technology Park is co-organising the EU Sparks for Climate: European Citizens Hackathon Championship. The event will take place in an online format, from 29 – 31 August 2024.

WHAT IS THE COMPETITION ABOUT?

The EU Sparks for Climate: European Citizens Hackathon Championship is a virtual competition that aims to promote citizen engagement in science, valorise scientific research and foster innovation that has a real impact on the fight against climate change. Submitted teams are tasked with creating an innovative technological and social solution to address the climate challenge.

WHO IS THE HACKATHON FOR?

The event is aimed at people who want to get involved in pro-environmental activities and at researchers, scientists, innovators who can propose solutions to climate challenges in Poland, Europe or the region. To participate, you must be at least 16 years old. The event will be held in English while teams can work on their solutions in Polish.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING?

The two best teams from each country will take part in the international final, which will take place in October. Each of the three winning teams will receive a prize of EUR 5,000. In addition, the winners will receive support in a crowdfunding campaign, access to a network of investors and assistance in developing their solution.

Participating in the hackathon is also a chance to gain valuable experience, make new contacts and support your own projects.
