On 28 May, the second international study visit for companies and partners interested in innovation, energy and decarbonisation took place in Faenza, Italy. The event was organised as part of the CREDIT4CE project, which supports small and medium-sized enterprises from Central and Eastern Europe in reducing the emissions intensity of their operations.
The visit began at Technopole Faenza, where the activities of C-HUB and the centre’s role in building cooperation between science and business were presented. The discussions focused, among other topics, on energy efficiency, the circular economy and industrial innovation.
The next stop was the CERTIMAC laboratories, where thermal and thermographic testing methods used to assess the energy efficiency of buildings were presented. Participants then visited the ENEA laboratories, part of the Italian agency specialising in new technologies, energy and sustainable development. The visit included a presentation of research on ceramic materials that improve the efficiency of energy production, as well as the activities of the Critical Raw Materials HUB related to the development of permanent magnets used, among other applications, in wind turbines.
In the next part of the visit, participants learned about the work of the CNR-ISSMC laboratories and the CIRI-MAM research centre of the University of Bologna. Research on ceramic materials used in energy and environmental protection, technologies for testing the fire resistance of materials, and the application of 3D printing in R&D activities were presented.
The final point of the programme was the Racing Bulls Green Energy Park, a demonstration facility showcasing integrated energy systems. Participants explored solutions combining solar energy, biomethane and SOFC fuel cell technology, including NOVA Solution by Cefla. This is an example of the practical use of renewable energy sources and technologies supporting the decarbonisation of the economy.
PPNT was represented at the event by Julia Dąbrowska, Sustainability Communications Specialist, together with Piotr Taterka from Symbio Media Group Sp. z o.o. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss practical solutions supporting sustainable development and to exchange experiences.
As part of the initiative, four more study visits will be organised in Central and Eastern Europe.
