In the days 12th and 14th of November PPNT hosted a Hackathon – practical workshops for WNPID students. The event was focused on tasks related to artificial intelligence, new technology, law and advertising, among the other topics.
Meeting was organized and held by PPNT experts – Julia Kobierska and Krzysztof Wiśniewski. Participants were welcomed by prof. PhD Dominika Narożna, PhD, Adam Mickiewicz University. The work was carried out in groups, and the organizers supervised everything.
The event concluded with a pitching session on the following topics:
- AI Influencer – who is responsible for the word of a bot?
Participants have developed the set of rules for appropriate communication tailored to this specific case, taking to attention legal and ethical considerations. The aim was to create a transparent campaign which is realized with a thought about security and respect of consumers. Students were considering dilemmas regarding responsibility for misleading the users through the use of bots.
- Personalization or manipulation?
Artificial intelligence is capable of analyzing users’ emotions based on their tone of voice, writing style, facial expressions, and reactions. This raises the question: where is the line between tailoring to needs and manipulation? HACK AD LAW participants attempted to define these boundaries through a project focused on ethical and lawful advertising personalization.
- Fake ad – artificial intelligence in disinformation
By the use of artificial intelligence is it possible to generate realistic videos which effectively distort reality and create chaos in the minds of viewers. Students developed practical ideas to secure advertising sector from AI abuse. Among the other things they considered the ways to detect the manipulation and regulations which could protect the users.
- AI in social campaigns – a blessing or a risk?
AI is also used in social campaigns. By this noble initiative usage of these type of tools may awake some concerns. Users of HACK AD LAW created set of rules for AI support which allows users to avoid manipulation and the perpetuation of stereotypes.
- AI copywriter – If a bot can create content that complies with advertising law?
Artificial intelligence can be a huge help to advertising copywriters. However, it leaves many unresolved dilemmas. Students tried to determine how copywriters should work with AI to ensure that the messages they create are ethical and legal.
Thank you to all participants. We are delighted that PPNT has once again become an inspiring space for young people.
