The keynote speech was delivered by Zhonglin Wang, Director of the Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy. He talked about a great potential of micro-devices which may be used in the future to move the human body as well as other breakthroughs and innovations. During the plenary sessions the speakers from the UK, Sweden and China shared their experience in implementing innovations which aim to improve the quality of life. They also discussed the past and the future of the production process, the emergence of new communities, social innovations and the process of internationalisation. It was emphasised in the discussion that the traditional definition of technology parks becomes too narrow in the light of evolving markets and technologies. The latest trends suggest that the parks should be more focused on the interaction with the environment, internationalisation, support for talent and the active promotion of the innovation eco-system.

The representatives of the Polish technology parks from Poznań, Kraków and Kielce attended the conference. The achievements of Poznań Science and Technology Park of AMU Foundation were presented by Dr Justyna Adamska who delivered a speech entitled: “The role of STPs in creating start-up community”
