2016-10-20

pstps-study-visit-to-portugalOn 10-19 October 2016 a group of 10 representatives of AMU Foundation took part in a study visit to Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN). The AMU Foundation representatives work with young people on a daily basis which was a requirement of the programme in which the project was financed. The visit was organised and funded under the “Get xPEERience” project as part of the Erasmus+ programme – the “Mobility of youth and youth workers” action. The aim of the project is to share experience and exchange good practice between the two business environment institutions in terms of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset in young people (aged 30 and under).

The main topic discussed during the visit was the implementation of Public Relations projects, promotion and sales of services as well as the exchange of experience in supporting young people who have an idea for their own business.

Instituto Pedro Nunes is an organisation working for and cooperating with the University of Coimbra (one of the three oldest universities in Europe). IPN offers services in the areas in which PSTP also operates, i.e. pre-incubation, incubation, acceleration and cooperation with investors, managing research centres, offering grants and scholarships to Ph.D. students.

During the study visit the representatives of PSTP had a chance to meet and share experience with the managers and staff working for:

  • the IPN incubator;
  • the IPN accelerator;
  • the Biocant Park biotechnology centre;
  • the university technology transfer centre;
  • startups incubated at IPN;
  • the University of Coimbra.
