During the 32nd International Conference on Multi-Disciplinary Excellence at the Poznań University of Life Sciences, PPNT scientist Maciej Spychalski, working at the spin-off company ATI, presented the results of research carried out as part of the LIDER project.
The event, organised in cooperation with Anugaram Publishing House, attracted nearly 60 participants and featured almost 50 presentations from various fields of science, becoming a platform for the exchange of experiences between the academic communities of Poland and India.
The presentation concerned an innovative method of protecting winter wheat using ionic derivatives of salicylic acid and benzothiadiazole. These substances activate a natural defence mechanism in plants, which enables them to fight pathogens on their own.
Field studies have shown that the use of the developed compounds significantly reduces the amount of fungicides used, promotes higher yields and improves grain quality.
